Client Overview

Anime Fashion is an ecommerce fashion brand selling anime-inspired apparel and merchandise online. When I began working on the store, the business had a major challenge: it had never generated a sale.

The problem went beyond email marketing. The store needed stronger search visibility, a better shopping experience, clearer conversion paths, and a system for turning visitors and subscribers into paying customers.

I approached the project across four connected areas: SEO, store optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and email marketing.

The Challenge

Anime Fashion had products and an existing ecommerce presence, but the store wasn't converting that presence into revenue. Before the engagement, the brand had generated $0 in sales, making the first priority to identify and fix the gaps preventing visitors from becoming customers.

The store needed SEO improvements to strengthen product discoverability, while key pages and the overall buying journey needed conversion optimization. At the same time, email had not yet developed into a meaningful revenue channel. There was no proven combination of campaigns and automated flows consistently bringing customers back to the store and converting purchase intent into sales.

Rather than treating traffic, conversion, and retention as separate problems, the strategy was built around creating one connected system: attract the right visitors, improve their shopping experience, convert more of them, and use email to capture additional revenue opportunities.

Starting point: $0 in previous sales.

How the Strategy Was Implemented

A connected strategy, implemented step by step.

01

Improved SEO and Store Discoverability

The first step was strengthening Anime Fashion's SEO foundation so its products and store pages were better positioned around relevant search intent. Product and store content were optimized with discoverability in mind, creating a stronger foundation for bringing potential customers into the store.

SEO was used as part of the wider acquisition strategy rather than as a standalone tactic. Combined with the other improvements, Anime Fashion moved from $0 in previous sales to $3,185.98 in monthly revenue.

02

Optimized the Store for Conversion

Getting visitors to Anime Fashion wouldn't matter if the store couldn't turn that traffic into customers. The next step was therefore improving the store experience with a stronger CRO focus, making the customer journey clearer and reducing unnecessary friction between discovering a product and completing a purchase.

The objective was to turn the store from somewhere customers could simply browse into a storefront designed to support buying decisions. After starting with zero previous sales, Anime Fashion reached $3,185.98 in total monthly revenue in June 2025.

03

Built Email Into a Revenue Channel

Email needed to become more than a communication channel. I developed a strategy combining targeted campaigns and automated flows to create multiple opportunities to convert subscribers, recover potential revenue, and bring customers back to the store.

By June 2025, email generated $1,112.53 in attributed revenue, accounting for 34.92% of Anime Fashion's total monthly revenue. Klaviyo also reported a 73% increase in attributed revenue compared with the previous period.

04

Used Campaigns to Drive Active Revenue

Regular campaigns were used to create timely reasons for subscribers to return to Anime Fashion rather than relying entirely on customers finding their way back to the store independently.

Campaigns became the strongest component of the email channel, generating $826.56 in attributed revenue during the month. That represented 74.30% of all email-attributed revenue, showing that campaign activity had become a meaningful contributor to store performance.

05

Created Automated Revenue Through Email Flows

Alongside campaigns, automated flows were used to create revenue opportunities based on the customer journey. This allowed email to continue working beyond manually scheduled campaign sends and gave Anime Fashion a more sustainable foundation for nurturing and converting customers.

Automated flows generated $285.97 in attributed revenue, representing 25.70% of total email revenue during the period.

The most important result was the overall transformation: Anime Fashion went from never having generated a sale to producing $3,185.98 in monthly revenue.

Email quickly became a significant part of that growth, contributing $1,112.53 or more than one-third of total revenue while campaigns and automated flows created two separate sources of email-attributed sales.

The Final Word

Anime Fashion didn't need a single marketing tactic. It needed the different parts of its ecommerce system to start working together.

By strengthening SEO, optimizing the store for conversion, improving the customer journey, and building email campaigns and automated flows, the brand moved from $0 in previous sales to $3,185.98 in monthly revenue, with 34.92% of that revenue attributed to email.

The result was more than a temporary increase in sales. Anime Fashion now had a stronger foundation for attracting potential customers, converting store traffic, and generating additional revenue through email.
